Enzymes, in a pod that goes straight in the drum
The pods are their own formulation, built for a drum rather than a sink. What carries over from our sheets is the target: enzymes aimed at the place period blood actually binds, which is inside the absorbent layer.
The film around the pod dissolves in the drum, which is why there is no pre-wash step. Everything happens in cold water, and cold is what protects the layer doing the absorbing.

Which cycle, and what to avoid
Three things to avoid, and they matter more than the cycle you pick: hot water, fabric softener and the dryer. Softener coats the absorbent layer, heat and tumbling wear it down. Hang the pairs to dry and a pair keeps working.

Three honest notes. It is lightly scented, not fragrance free. The surfactants are anionic, so this is not a sulfate-free formula. And it is a different formulation from Quick Sheets, built for a machine rather than a sink, so we are not going to tell you it is one product in two wrappers.
